Blazing Angels 2: Secret Missions of WW II—A Hit

When the sequel to an already good game seeks to improve on the original, the makers had better add new features to the game play and create additional visual acuity. Blazing Angels 2: Secret Missions of WW II does exactly that. Ranging far around the globe, you will find top-secret missions, in the process combating the Nazis with the help of a beautiful spy and your squad mates.

Along the way, new cutting edge weaponry (at least for World War II) and partly factual historical scenarios make the whole framework a bit fanciful, but all of this only serves to heighten the experience.

Being able to fly over mountains, deserts, oceans, and cities will count for something in amplifying your enjoyment. Textures, lighting, and action are all exemplary and your missions vary their objectives and pace enough to keep your interest. You are given about fifty planes to choose from, occupying you while you learn about the different characteristics of each plane.

The controls for the first in this sim series were excellent and Blazing Angels 2: Secret Missions of WW II maintains the superior flight handling. Story background is minimal so the focus is on the game play and the planes. As you take on secret missions, you will gain Prestige points that will serve you well later in the game when you need extra features and upgrades to your hardware. One of the perks is an increase in missile range that no one would deem superfluous.

Multi-player and online modes are worthwhile also, incorporating numerous chances for dogfights. Blazing Angels 2: Secret Missions of WW II is a dependable pleasure that nevertheless could stand some improvements in the game play area.
