Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars—A Big WOW!

December 30, 2007 | Filed Under Game Reviews | No Comments

This third installment of the Command & Conquer series has all the bells and whistles of the previous two, namely real time strategies, tremendous graphics, and furious battles. Unrelenting action will keep you scoping the environment for enemies as the new opponents, the Scrin join the GDI in attempting to thwart Kane (played again by Joseph Kucan—creepy) from gaining access to tiberium, now the technological key to the future. However, the three factions all have different agendas and, more important, all behave differently. For instance, the Scrin are resistant to the negative effects of tiberium so you are must deal with them in a vastly different manner. With three distinctive campaigns, each from the perspective of the three sects, Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars will keep you busy for dozens of hours. Unlocking the various features reveals more side missions that are intriguing in the extreme. Interspersed among all of the game play are live action cut scenes much the same as the first two, featuring the likes of Michael Ironside and Billy Dee Williams, cheesy to the max.The visuals are again sumptuous and you may find yourself gazing in awe at the familiar landscapes of D.C. and other earthly locales. Multi-player functions are the best part of Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars so hook up with some players and whale away at each other. This game is one of the best of the year.
