Fight Night Round 3 is available for the Xbox 360 at a price of $27.99 from Electronic Arts. This game has an advantage over earlier versions of this series in that the control mechanics are brilliant. You can test your skills against boxing legends.
The Xbox 360 features amazing player models. The sound effects are so realistic that you will feel it when you hear a guy get hit in the fact. There are some negatives to this game as well. The structure required in career mode is lacking. In addition there is a certain repetitiveness to single player fights
Veteras to this series will welcome the Total Punch Control mechanic, which reappears in Fight Night Round 3. For newbies there is a bit of a learning curve to this game. Impact punches are new to this game. There are a number of other punches – flash KO, stun punch etc.
Attack is the best defense in Fight Night Round 3. Between rounds you are allowed to play a minigame that reduces your hurts. Just like the previous games there are three modes – career, play now and online multiplayer. In addition there is a new ESPN classic mode.
The presentation is like the previous game which means that it is good. The 360 is the best console to play this game on with amazing lifelike detail in the fighters. One issue I had was with the numerous advertisements scattered around. I liked the audio though. With enjoyable gameplay, this is one online multiplayer that is not to be missed.
