History Channel: Battle For The Pacific for the Xbox 360 Game Review

January 13, 2008 | Filed Under Game Reviews | No Comments

Although this game features the name of the History Channel, it is not just historically accurate, it is downright unrealistic. In this game soldiers run up to the enemy without cover and then kill them. The mission design is terrible and artificial intelligence is bad as well.

The story here is hardly even there. All you have is stand alone missions and voice overs that are very uninteresting to say the least. You can’t move too far away from the commanding officer without ending the mission.

The gunfire part of it is really bad. Even if your enemy is in the crosshairs you may still miss him. Your campaign is over in just about 2 hours. There are not too many people to play with online although if you do find some, it is fun.

The gameplay simply misses the mark and even the sometimes decent visuals exhibit major problems. Erratic frame rate and shaking in the screen mar the gameplay. Although the sound effects are relatively good, the dialogues are often irritating. Also the music score weaves in and out without warning or cause.

This is an expensive game with a poor standard of gameplay and overall uninteresting situations. Not recommended.
