NCAA Football 08 For the Xbox 360 Game Review

Although I liked NCAA Football 07, it was plagued by many issues. Perhaps this was due to the change in the console’s generation. These problems do not present themselves in this latest offering. There are plenty of ways to stay busy with this one.
There is a new Campus Legend mode as well as super sim, which add a nice touch to an already fantastic format. You can go online for a ranked game or an unranked one if you like. Minigames are available to keep you entertained. If you haven’t played Tug of War, option dash and bowling last time around, don’t miss them this time.
There is some lag in online play which makes kicking and tackling difficult. There is a great Weather Channel feature. The weather can be changed as you like. With dynasty mode you get to pick or create a school and do everything possible to make it succeed on the field.
If handling an entire program is not your thing, perhaps campus legend mode is. You get to pick a position and school and then get ready for the state’s playoffs. By attending practice you can move up the depth chart.
This game is similar to last years game visually. You will find more stadiums though. There are some clipping issues, but otherwise the players look fantastic. You can tell from different kinds of players by their body types. I liked the 360 version of this game more than the PS3 – the frame rate was faster and smoother.
This game has some interesting additions to last years offering that make an already great game a little better. Recommended.
