Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08 is available from Electronic Arts for a price of $49.99 on Amazon.com. This series has been the best selling golf franchise for a long time. Although the games play well, there have not been too many changes in them. The Xbox 360 version has its share of bugs. The analog swing in this one is not as good as the previous games.

This year there are new bingo, bango and bongo modes. If you are first on the green you get “bingo”, if you are closest to the pin you get “bango” and the highest score gives you “bongo”. Online play is mostly the same as the previous games in the series. Career mode is slightly better than previous years.

There are new courses to play on this year – 16 of them in fact. 21 professional golfers play, with 8 new ones. Your career starts as Tiger Woods the rookie or a created golfer. Your skills improve by playing well at events. The created golfer is not too good at the game, you will need to hone your skill.

You can now add a draw or fade to your shot. There is a lot of hype to a new feature – the EA Sports Gamernet. Your best, worst and wierdest shots can be saved to share with the world. Other players can then attempt these shots as a challenge. In addition create a character mode is back.

Overall this game is a good idea that has not been properly implemented. It is a good game, though if you haven’t played the previous games in the series, try it out.
