Virtua Figher 5 for the Xbox 360 Game Review

January 5, 2008 | Filed Under Game Reviews | No Comments

Virtua Fighter 5 is a release by Sega of America Inc for the Xbox 360. A new copy will set you back by $57.99 on Amazon. This is the latest in the line of offline games that have gone online. It does a remarkable job of it.

With the online mode you can play against another competitor online in unranked as well as ranked matches. You need a good internet connection for this and your opponent needs to have a good connection as well. If the connections are bad the games may be unplayable.

One issue with this game is that you cannot change characters. I would have liked tournament options in this game as well. In single player mode, the practice mode is a yawn, and the quest mode is more interesting. As you win you earn money that can be used to unlock items, customize characters or for tournament invitations.

THe characters look great in this game much like the arcade version, the animation is quality and the backgrounds picturesque. The voice animation could have been a bit better though.

All in all Virtua Fighter 5 is a fantastic game for fighting fans and a good addition to your library. Recommended.
